Now you can access fast internet on the move using any 3G or 4G mobile broadband. The Sprint Sierra Tri-Fi Hotspot is the first of its kind because it supports all the three data networks run by Sprint- 3G, 4G LTE, and the unique 4G WiMAX. Earlier the 4G LTE was working in Dallas only but now it is being expanded.
FeaturesThe Sierra Tri-Fi mobile, broadband device will allow you to connect up to 8 Wi-Fi enable gadgets- computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones. For improving the signal reception of the 3G or 4G band, a performance dock or a wireless repeater is used which will also be available from Sierra and because ports on the device are not the usual antenna ports they are the only solution.
Availability and Cost
The Sierra Hotspot will be available around June 10 and costs around $100 with a two year contract or $350 without one. Nevertheless, Sprint has an unusually costly data plan with $35 for just 3 GB per month. With acceptable speed and battery life, it is a truly viable solution if you travel around a lot. Yet Sprint’s 4G coverage is not particularly enjoyable and so the data speeds in 4G are not something to write about. Moreover, the gadget is also quite bulky.
