Samsung Galaxy S IV by Rahul Sharma: Part 2 – Specifications

Designer Rahul Sharma from India created a very interesting Samsung Galaxy S IV concept posted on our site. We first detailed the beautiful design of the device and now we’re back with the specifications and hardware details. This is a mockup of the Galaxy S4 for 2013, that has some reasonably realistic specifications.
Samsung Galaxy S IV by Rahul Sharma: Part 2 Specifications
Rahul’s Samsung Galaxy S IV features a polycarbonate body with a 7 mm thick waistline and it weighs 117 grams. It also has pentaband connectivity, LTE, WiMax connectivity and touch sensitive controls with scrolling sensors on the side for menu navigation. Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie is the OS of choice here, powered by a 2 GHz Exynos 5 quad core processor and 2.5 GB of DDR3 RAM. At the back we find a 13.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, 4x physical zoom lenses and 3 point LED flash. There’s also a dual 2 megapixel camera for 3D video calls and gesture tracking, placed at the front of the handset.
On the connectivity side, this concept offers WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, wireless charging and heat charging via the PowerFelt technology. The screen uses electro sensitive touch technology, great for peek and preview functions and gaming graphics. Finally, we get a 3600 mAh Li-Ion battery with enhanced 1000 charge cycles for extra resilience. Speech to text, audio browsing, stereo FM radio, accelerometer, barometer and gyroscope are all on board as well. As far as Samsung proprietary functions are concerned, we’ve got S Vision (augmented reality, S Voice 2 (new voice assistant), S Play (new gaming service) and S Surround (Samsung sound immersion technology).
This one is a fantastic and futuristic design from Rahul Sharma and I’m looking forward to see other designs of the Samsung Galaxy S IV like this one. Congrats Rahul!

LG Optimus Nexus “Press” Render Created by Bob Freking

As you know, the entire Internet is flooded with leaked pictures and specs of the upcoming LG Optimus Nexus phone aka the Mako aka the LG Nexus 4. Codenamed E960, this model is actually a brother of the LG Optimus G model, with some slight modifications. Taking all of the leaked photos into account, Bob Freking created the following “press” picture:
LG Optimus Nexus Press Render Created by Bob Freking
LG Google Nexus features a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, with Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and a 4.7 inch display with 768 x 1184 pixel resolution. The odd resolution is generated by the on screen virtual Android buttons, that take up some of the screen estate. At the back of the phone there’s an 8 megapixel camera, so the 13 MP shooter of the Optimus G is not kept this time. The OS of choice is Android 4.2, that may or may not be Key Lime Pie. It may end up as a new flavor of Jelly Bean…
People are complaining about the fact that the LG Nexus 4 is rumored to only offer 8 GB of storage and no microSD card. That would be a huge mistake from its maker and I doubt it would happen. Rumors also say we’ll see this smartphone launched on October 29th, so there’s a little bit more waiting. Let’s enjoy Bob Freking’s render till then!
