Sony Xperia UX Mockup, Created by Reeflotz

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 was a very loved device back in its day and Esato board member reeflotz thought that we should go back in the past and celebrate that model. Inspired by it he created the Sony UX concept, a beautiful handset with a powerful camera and sliding keyboard.

You can find reeflotz on Deviantart as well, if you want a more detailed view of his work. This Xperia concept features a 16.1 megapixel camera, probably with Exmor R sensor and all the goodies of modern Sony technology. It also seems to have a HDMI port and what looks like a comfortable 4 row keyboard. Android 4.0 ICS is the OS of choice here and there’s even a secondary display made on the side, probably for displaying notifications and the music player (Walkman) interface.
The designer also included a stylus slot here and a lens cover slide for the camera. Overall this looks like a Sony camera at first sight, but then you see the keyboard and the modern Xperia facade and everything gets a different picture. Quite an interesting device, I have to say! The mockup was created in 3D Studio Max and rendered with Vray.

iSurface Nexus: the Combination of Google, Apple and Microsoft Phone

Bob Freking teased an interesting device made through the cooperation of Microsoft, Apple and Google. Now we have the final version of the handset, called the iSurface Nexus, that’s pictured below. The designer combined the features of the operating systems, so we have live tiles on the home screen, a simplified dock on the same area and it all runs on an open source platform.
iSurface Nexus: the Combination of Google, Apple and Microsoft
Phone
There’s Face Unlock available, deep social networking integration and live wallpapers too. Siri and Google Now work together and the hardware here includes a hybrid custom Apple A6 – Exynos quad core chip. At the back we have a 13 megapixel iSight camera and inside the iSurface Nexus there’s 2 GB of RAM, a Retina 4.5 inch Display and all the body is pure magnesium like the Microsoft Surface.
If you look at the phone from the side it looks like the iPhone a bit, while the top side looks like something that Samsung would make. The back also bears some influences from Android devices and this powerhouse looks truly appealing, although it’s a wet dream that will never come true. You know who’s lacking here? Nokia and frankly, the N9 design is still better than this hybrid, but that’s only my opinion. What do you think of this concept?

Razer Atlas 7 Inch Core i7 Tablet Comes Stylus, Keyboard, Phone Features

Bob Freking created a new tablet concept, the Razer Atlas, a 7 inch device with a Core i7 CPU, plus stylus, keyboard, mouse compatibility and phone features. The name Atlas comes from the Greek mythology character, the one who held the world on his back. He chose Razer, because it makes sexy devices, with top notch specs.

Features
The Razer Atlas is a 7 inch Windows devices, with a Win RT version and a Win 8 version. So it can be selected in a Tegra version or core i3 to i7 version and it will have 4 GB of RAM, a 16 megapixel camera and a 7 inch 1080p HD screen. There’s also the option of associating keyboards and mice to it, plus the same S Pen that Samsung has. The price of the RT version is $800, while the maximum for the Windows 8 tablet is $1800, with Core i7 CPU and 4 GB of RAM.
That’s good enough to run games like Crysis or Portal easily, according to the designer Bob Freking. I see this as a desktop replacement and the definite laptop killer. It’s still too big to replace a phone and too little to play Crysis, if you ask me. 10 inches suit Windows 8 better, I think.

Sony Xperia Z 4.3 Inch Smartphone Has a 14MP Camera, Snapdragon Quad Core CPU

Ben Ling usually sends us a new Sony Xperia concept phone each week and this time he didn’t disappoint and sent us the Sony Xperia Z design. We’re dealing here with an interesting 4.3 inch smartphone with a sloped lower and upper side, something I haven’t seen Sony doing recently. It’s also nice to see a combo of white case and black, glossy front panel.

Quad Core CPU
There’s something very iPad-like about this model, if I may say so. Sony Xperia Z uses a 4.3 inch Full HD TFT touchscreen, which is a crazy resolution for such a small display and we also get a 14 megapixel camera with LED flash and Exmor R sensor. The camera does 16x digital zoom and Full HD video recording at 1080p. There’s also a front 2 megapixel camera with 1080p capture and a quad core 1.2 GHZ Snapdragon processor inside. The handset is 9.9 mm thick, features NFC and weighs 121 grams.
Other specs include 1 GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 16 GB of storage, Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and the xLOUD technology. Under the hood there’s Li-Ion 1910 mAh battery and finally there’s also Bluetooth 4.0 among the specs. I would buy this phone in heartbeat! Would you?

Samsung Galaxy Aurora Smartphone Concept is a 6 Inch Phablet Actually

Created by Deviantart member TheTechnoToast, the Samsung Galaxy Aurora smartphone concept is more likely a futuristic phablet, something like Galaxy Note IV, if you want. It’s supposed to feature a new type of battery, much stronger than Li-Ion and this one is called L-Lion, with a power of 820k mAh, that’s just crazy.

Actually
The battery has the same size of Li-Ion, but it can get very hot, so it’s surrounded by 11 extremely powerful nano fans, cooling the CPU inside and the battery. The GPU here is a PowerVR Series 5XT SGXMX20 with 12 cores and the Samsung Aurora seems to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, although I expected something more futuristic. I expect technology from the future 10 or maybe 20 years to be inside this device, so a 16 core processor wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Also 128GB of storage, 5G connectivity and a 21MP camera are all specifications that come to my mind and I associated them to this model. I hope the designer likes my ideas regarding his creation, but anyway frankly speaking I prefer this design to the real Galaxy Note II, that’s so predictable. Do you like this one more?

Nokia 1002 7.5 Inch Phablet Runs Windows 8 on a Quad Core Processor

We have seen a Nokia phablet before, but it was limited to a Galaxy Note-like diagonal. Now we get a bigger device, a 7.5 inch phablet created by Edgar Mkrtchyan and called Nokia 1002. The device runs Windows 8 and it’s based on a 1.8 GHz quad core processor.
Nokia 1002 7.5 Inch Phablet Runs Windows 8 on a Quad Core
Processor
It measures 11 mm in thickness and its screen is a 7.5 inch unit with a 1800 x 900 pixel resolution. Other features include an 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, a 3.2 megapixel front camera and the shooter at the back also has a LED flash and 108pp video capture. Nokia 1002 Phablet offers 64 or 128 GB of mass storage, as well as microSD card slot and SkyDrive, plus USB on the go. It has a 8000 mAh battery under the hood and as far as connectivity goes, you get microUSB 3.0, HDMI, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Nokia AV 3.5.
The phablet has pretty much the same virtual keyboard as the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms, adapted to the size of the screen and there also seems to be a sort of Home button on the side. I can see there’s also a camera button and the whole Nokia 1002 is a very curved concept tablet. The idea here is to make the screen curved in order to eliminate contact with the ground once the device falls face down. Considering all the features and the OS choice, I’d say that such a phablet would be priced at around $1000 or so.
