Nokia 1002 7.5 Inch Phablet Runs Windows 8 on a Quad Core Processor

We have seen a Nokia phablet before, but it was limited to a Galaxy Note-like diagonal. Now we get a bigger device, a 7.5 inch phablet created by Edgar Mkrtchyan and called Nokia 1002. The device runs Windows 8 and it’s based on a 1.8 GHz quad core processor.

It measures 11 mm in thickness and its screen is a 7.5 inch unit with a 1800 x 900 pixel resolution. Other features include an 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, a 3.2 megapixel front camera and the shooter at the back also has a LED flash and 108pp video capture. Nokia 1002 Phablet offers 64 or 128 GB of mass storage, as well as microSD card slot and SkyDrive, plus USB on the go. It has a 8000 mAh battery under the hood and as far as connectivity goes, you get microUSB 3.0, HDMI, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Nokia AV 3.5.
The phablet has pretty much the same virtual keyboard as the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms, adapted to the size of the screen and there also seems to be a sort of Home button on the side. I can see there’s also a camera button and the whole Nokia 1002 is a very curved concept tablet. The idea here is to make the screen curved in order to eliminate contact with the ground once the device falls face down. Considering all the features and the OS choice, I’d say that such a phablet would be priced at around $1000 or so.

Xperia Tablet X Mockup Created by Frank Tobias

Since there’s a real Xperia Tablet S out there, shown at IFA 2012 Berlin and it keeps the same disappointing design of the Tablet S, let’s see what Frank Tobias imagined for a future Sony slate. He created the Xperia Tablet X mockup, that you can see below.
Xperia Tablet X Mockup Created by Frank Tobias
It seems to adopt the Xperia S design, with those transparent rings, but it has two on the sides, instead of one. Seeing the orientation of the logo, this is more of a landscape style device and I suppose that the grilles next to the transparent areas hide some speakers. The thing is that when you hold the tablet in landscape you will cover the speakers with your hands, although not entirely. I can also see there’s a front camera in there and something that may be an earpiece?
Frank Tobias said he’ll be back with more pictures and some specs for this tablet. If you ask me, it’s a quad core affair, with 7 inch display, Full HD resolution, 8 megapixel camera at the back and HDMI out port, as well as DLNA. Also it has some sort of special PlayStation 3 compatibility, that allows it to play some parts of PS3 games on the tablet or even store PSN downloaded games and saves.

Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 Leaked Pictures; What to Expect at Nokia World 2012

I am sure you know that in a few hours Nokia World 2012 will debut and we will see the future of the Nokia Lumia series. The Finnish company will launch its first Windows Phone 8 devices and maybe we’ll also see the first Lumia Pureview phone. It’s true we had a lot of concepts here from that range, but now let’s have a look at some leaked pictures of upcoming models, courtesy of@evleaks on Twitter.

So, we’re dealing with the Nokia Lumia 920, rumored to include a Pureview camera and 4.5 inch HD display, plus dual core CPU. As you can see, this model doesn’t stray too much from the N9/Lumia 800 design and hopefully its body is more compact than the one of the Lumia 900, that I found to be huge. The Lumia 820 is a 4.3 inch affair and it was previously leaked as Nokia Arrow. This one adopts a wider design and a plasticky case, coming in varied colours, directed to the young public.
There’s also a Nokia Lumia Charging Pad pictured, meaning that future WP8 devices from te company will support wireless charging via this mouse-like accessory. I also saw a speaker of sorts, that looked very cool. Maybe it’s a NFC speaker? Anyway, what do you make of these leaks and do you think we’ll see a Nokia Lumia Pureview during the Microsoft + Nokia event tomorrow?
