Samsung Galaxy S4 Mockup Pictures and Some Rumors

I was searching the web for some new information on the Samsung Galaxy S IV and I came across the article in the source below, with some interesting pictures and information. Considering how substantial the rumors about the future Galaxy S are, I would have expected to see more leaks or concepts by now… Anyway, we’ve got a bunch of Galaxy S4 pics for you below:
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mockup Pictures and Some Rumors
You should know that rumors say we should expect Mobile World Congress 2013 to bring us the new Samsung flagship, with specs that include an Exynos 5 CPU (ARM15) or maybe Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core CPU. It will also have 2 GB of RAM and rumors say that the device will sport a 5 inch display this time, with a Full HD resolution and OLED technology. The S4 will bring 4G LTE connectivity, Android 4.1.1. Jelly Bean as the OS of choice and 16/32/64 GB of storage. An improved battery will also be here and for some reason there’s a dual camera at the back, on this Samsung concept.
We’ve got a front camera that seems to be pretty powerful and other specs should include NFC, a microSD card slot and maybe even a nano SIM slot. Maybe this time Samsung will surprise us and give up plastic for its case and opt for aluminum and glass, maybe anodized aluminum or maybe kevlar like Motorola. From what I see here, we might as well consider the Galaxy S4 a dumbed down Galaxy Note II, if I may say so. Where’s the wow factor and the new specs?

Google DroidBook Nexus Laptop By Bob Freking, the MacBook Killer

While everyone is looking for an iPad killer, Google and its hardware partners could sneak up and deliver a blow to Apple in another segment: laptops. At least that’s what Bob Freking imagined, when he created the Google DroidBook Nexus, a beautiful laptop concept shown below. I’ve heard rumors that the next Android will actually be focused on netbooks and bigger devices, but that’s just a rumor.
Google DroidBook Nexus Laptop By Bob Freking, the MacBook Killer
Bob Freking mentions that after buying Motorola, Google discontinued Lapdocks for the Moto phones, so they may be preparing their own desktop with Android or their own laptop. The DroidBook Nexus features a 3 megapixel HD front camera, uses a Core i7 CPU with Intel Integrated Graphics (not my first choice for a Google setup) and also features a 17 inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display. The result is a laptop concept that’s thinner than a MacBook and has a full keyboard.
It will reach 12 hours of usage and it even has an optical drive, if there’s any need for that… Windows games and apps can be converted to Android through a special app and the device is able to run famous games like Minecraft, Resident Evil 6, Crysis, Final Fantasy Online and the famous app Photoshop. The designer wasn’t clear about the OS on the device, so I imagine it’s a cross between Chrome OS and Android 5.0, or something like it. Price this baby right and we’ve got a hit!

Sony Xperia Nexus, a Beautiful Curved Device With Android Key Lime Pie

Deviantart user Slatd, the same creator of the Nokia N1 Android phone is now back with another concept. This time is a new generation Nexus phone, one made by Sony and Google. Meet the Xperia Nexus, a curved handset with a very slim design and a look inspired by the Xperia TX, as the designer himself claims.

 Pie
I’m guessing this model runs Android Key Lime Pie, has a great 12 megapixel camera, quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and 1.5 or 2 GB of RAM. A microSD card slot, NFC and LTE are probably on the specs list, together with what looks like a 4.5 inch 768p screen. Such a display choice is trendy nowadays, just look at Nokia’s latest Lumia phone. Seeing how the body of the Sony Google Nexus phone is curved a bit, I expect a fantastic waistline, maybe something lower than 7 mm, which would be a record breaker for a mainstream device.
The idea of a Google Nexus phone made by someone other than HTC or Samsung has been around from day one, with LG being the preferred candidate for that and Motorola too. Sony was never really included in this category, although in November we could be surprised by 5 new Nexus phones, as the rumors are saying…

Nokia Lumia 8 Windows Phone 8 With PureView 41 Megapixel Camera Adds a Metallic Kickstand for Fun

Nokia Lumia 8 aka Nokia L8 is a concept Windows Phone 8 device created by Saeid Khajevand and pictured below. He imagined a handset that runs WP8, has a 41 megapixel PureView camera, what looks like a potent speaker at the front bottom and pretty much the same design as current hot Lumias.
Nokia Lumia 8 Windows Phone 8 With PureView 41 Megapixel Camera
Adds a Metallic Kickstand for Fun
You can see that the upper side is a bit more sloped than what we have right now and the device is a bit less rounded. All the major buttons are on one side, the right side, including On/Off, volume and camera, while the camera mechanism at the back seems way too compact to offer PureView 41 MP action. What’s more interesting is that Windows Phone 8 silver logo that extends from the back and acts like a kickstand, a cool one actually. Also it seems that we’ve got the microUSB port at the bottom, together with yet another speaker, divided into smaller pieces.
What I want from a futuristic Lumia phone is first of all to get rid of all that bulkiness and weight. As you probably know already, the Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 are quite thick and heavy, actually much thicker than current Android hotshots, for example. While Nokia may justify that through big batteries and camera sensors, the future will make even those thinner, so maybe the next Lumia flagship will go below 9 mm or even 8 mm this time, something that HTC and Motorola have been doing for a while now… Do you fancy the Nokia L8?

Ferrari Eternity Hybrid Wins the Ferrari World Design Contest 2011

The Ferrari World Design Contest 2011 was an initiative meant to gather designs of Ferrari vehicles from all over the world, for the sake of diversity. Well, this happened and included design students from over 50 schools all over, but in the end the winner was the Ferrari Eternity or Eternita concept, created by South Korea students.

Kim Cheong Ju, Ahn Dre and Lee Sahngseok from Hongik University took the prize, revealing a beautiful hybrid electric sports car. Eternity has a body made totally out of carbon fiber, for the sake of lower weight and also on top there’s a lithium coating for extra engine power. The fuel of choice is hydrogen for this supercar, relying on the system “Fly-Wheel Energy Storage”.
Friction reduction and smooth driving is achieved to the Maglev system and this may certainly be the future. Of course, fans of the traditional and classic Ferrari design will say that they don’t like this concept one bit, but it’s time to evolve, don’t you think?
