Nokia Lumia 950 Atlantis Designed by Rahul Sharma Features Quad Core CPU, 4.8 Inch Display

One of our readers, DJArmani sent us an email requiring us to create a Nokia Lumia concept phone that slightly resembles the Lumia 920 and adopts a list of specs that he request. Designer Rahul Sharma from India was kind enough to turn the request into a real concept and the result can be seen below. Meet the Nokia Lumia 950 Atlantis, a 4.8 inch smartphone.
Nokia Lumia 950 Atlantis Designed by Rahul Sharma Features Quad
Core CPU, 4.8 Inch Display
We’re dealing with a phone that arrives with the tagline “Be the change” and it offers a single unbibody design, engineered with titanium steel. Upfront we’ve got a 4.8 inch Puremotion display, Windows Phone 8 as the OS and a 2 GHz quad core Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 320 GPU inside. 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM are also included, as well as dual Dolby surround speakers for a more immersive experience. At the back we’ve got a 16 megapixel Pureview camera with a 3 point Xenon LED flash.
There’s also a removable 3100 mAh battery on board and aside from the request Rahul Sharma added a metallic triangular kickstand at the back. This is a magnetic detachable kickstand, created so it won’t stick to the phone at all times, in order not to look weird. There’s also a dedicated camera key on board and dual 2 megapixel cameras at the front. NFC, facial recognition, gesture tracking and up to 128 GB of extra microSD storage are features also included by Rahul Sharma.
He also performed slight tweaks of the design of the Lumia 920, like the curves at the bottom, while keeping the main idea intact. Fancy it? We sure do! As usual we advise you to send us your ideal design and our designer friends will make them real.

HTC hTab Tablet Concept Has 14 Inch Full HD Display, 8 MP ImageSense Camera

Created by Hasan Kaymak/ HTC Concepts, the HTC hTab tablet is a very interesting device, that actually fits recent leaks we’ve seen. I’m talking about a pretty big, white HTC tablet with modern specifications. This one is dubbed hTab and it brings a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 1.7 GHz processor, just like the HTC One X+.

ImageSense Camera
At the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera with ImageSense technology, autofocus, smart LED flash and BSI sensor. Upfront we’ve got a big 14 inch Full HD screen and also in the same area there’s a 1.6 megapixel front camera for videocalls and supporting 720p video capture. The tablet adopts an intelligent design for a more comfortable use and has the speakers on the top on both sides. As you can see, the device also offers Beats Audio technology and from the back it looks like a bunch of HTC One X models glued together.
It may be just my impression but the tablet looks curved, especially in the profile. It may use a curved screen, since it’s a popular choice nowadays. I’m not sure about the CPU choice, since Tegra 3 is already one year old… Other than that it’s a beautiful design.

HTC One XXL is a 10 inch Tablet With Tegra 4 CPU

Created by Tomáš Pulmann, the HTC One XXL is an interesting tablet concept, that features a 10.1 inch display and a next generation Tegra processor. The mockup relies on a 10.1 inch S-LCD 2 panel with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and inside we’ve got the Nvidia Tegra 4 processor.

The HTC One XXL tablets comes in 32, 64 or 128 GB versions and at the back it has an 8 megapixel camera with Full HD video capture at 60 fps. Other features include Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and a glossy polycarbonate design. The rounded format of the device, plus its very glossy case remind me a bit of the HTC One X and I love that slight slope of the device’s edges. However, it does seem a bit fragile and easy to drop, being so glossy and shiny.
Since Tegra 3 debuted late last year, it would be time for Nvidia Tegra 4 to appear, at least in benchmarks or leaks right now. I can’t really say what the new CPU will bring, but I would be happy with better battery, less overheating and better benchmark results. Tegra 4 and Android 5.0 will be the combo that defines 2013, so let’s keep an eye on it.

Sony Xperia X Concept by Ben Ling: 2 GB RAM, Quad Core Krait CPU and More

This is probably the first Sony Xperia X concept I see that doesn’t have a huge display. Instead Ben Ling imagined a 4.3 inch Full HD TFT screen, which is quite an impressive feat even 2 years from now. Such a huge resolution on such a small screen is a real performance. Let’s see what else this handset brings.
Sony Xperia X Concept by Ben Ling: 2 GB RAM, Quad Core Krait CPU
and More
Xperia X has a scratch resistant capacitive touchscreen, a 14 megapixel camera at the back with Exmor RS sensor and 16x digital zoom, as well as Full HD video recording. There’s also a front 2 megapixel camera and a quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, that also brings an Adreno 230 GPU. The smartphone measures 8.6 mm in thickness, supports NFC and weighs 120 grams. It has 2 GB of RAM and runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, supporting an upgrade to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
32 GB of storage are available and the screen uses Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 3. Another trademark Sony technology on board is xLOUD and the power source here is a standard Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery. Finally, the Sony Xperia X has Bluetooth 4.0, 10 finger multitouch and up to 64 GB of extra microSD storage. An interesting design by Ben Ling.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mockup by Jsus Features a 4.8 inch Edge to Edge Display

There’s a great responsability at Samsung, when making the next Galaxy S phone. The Galaxy S III is already a big upgrade from the S II, but what will the next one bring? If you ask designer Jsus, he thinks that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will look something like the mockup below, with a 4.8 inch edge to edge display.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mockup by Jsus Features a 4.8 inch Edge to Edge
Display
The handset is slightly curved, has a big Home button and no side bezels. On the sides you’ve got metal and the profile of the Galaxy S4 looks pretty thin. Frankly, I like the curves of this model more than the ones of the Galaxy S III. Samsung Galaxy S4 also features a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. The concept measures 6.8 mm in thickness and weighs 123 grams, although they should try to make it a bit thinner.
One thing I always hated about the Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II is how slippery they are. I want Samsung to find a way to include a material that doesn’t slip from your hand, maybe some sort of coated aluminum or rubbery material. The way this Galaxy S4 incorporates the display panel is by including it into the design in a way that reminds me of the Nokia N9. Quite an interesting piece of work.
